ZIFA Southern Region Division One outfit Zimbabwe Republic Police has set high standards this season as they aim to win the league.
Speaking ahead of their first game against newly promoted CIWU, Rodgers Ndlovu the ZRP coach said their goal for the season is to win the league and get an automatic ticket into the Premier league.
“Our ambition this season is to clinch the title then gain entrance into the Premier League where we will get a chance to play against top team such as Highlanders, Chicken Inn and Dynamos. I have told my boys about this and they promised to work very hard towards reaching our goal,” he said. Having finished in position nine last season, the team lost most of its players to other teams but Ndlovu said they have made some new acquisitions who have got Premier League experience.
“We lost most of our players to other teams at the end of last season, but this will not affect us as we have recruited quality players and notable acquisitions including veterans from Premier League clubs such as Chicken Inn, Bulawayo City while we also got two players from Bulawayo Chiefs and one from Tsholotsho.”
