Sunday Sermon with Apostle Chisale

GREETINGS beloved nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you shall find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk in it’.”

There is a way where God wants us to stand in. When we get to that way the Bible says, “see”. This speaks of opening of our eyes of discernment. When we get onto this way our spiritual eyes need to be opened so that we may see the way. The Bible says there is a way that seemeth right to men but leads to death. The Lord was speaking to the children of Israel, that they need to stand in the way and their spiritual eyes be opened so that they may see where the Lord is leading them.

This is the way our forefathers of faith walked in. These are the ways of God, that when you walk in them, you become an extraordinary person, you become a victor, you are exempted from any demonic curses from the powers of darkness. The question is how many people have found this way. Many a times we claim we are walking in that way while the results are showing something else. When you begin to walk in this way, you will be untouchable.

Your prayer life begins to change, you will no longer ask God for things but your prayers will be prayers of thanksgiving. Your giving will no longer be painful but you will give with joy because you have found the ways that God speaks of in Jeremiah to the children of Israel. Paul says that I pray that your eyes of understanding be opened.

After your eyes are opened the Bible says you have to “ask for the ancient paths.” When you get in this way that God is speaking of in Jeremiah 6:16, you begin to ask. Asking in this “way” is allowed. Many a times when I was growing up I used to be told that you cannot ask God.

But I later found out in the scriptures that even Jesus commanded us to ask saying, “ask and you shall be answered, knock and the door shall be opened, seek and you shall find”. So when we compare our Christian experiences with the fathers of faith you will discover that there are gaps. They walked in the supernatural, some walked in greater prosperity and some had nations bow down before them. They maintained greatness. In the book of Acts we hear that they turned the world upside down. We hear of women like Sarah who gave birth at the age of 90. Women like Ester in the book of Ester who was favoured by a king.

We discover that because of their favour, their enemies would die without a sword being used. It was favour that killed them. People like Elijah who overtook the chariot of Ahab. People like Paul who was beaten and left for dead but the next day he was seen preaching again. People like Peter who was arrested and the next day we see an angelic visitation taking him out of prison without a prison break.

We may go on and on about these heroes of faith. They were untouchable that some of them their shadows could heal the sick. Now God is commanding us as the end time church that we should ask the Holy Spirit what made these heroes of faith be what they were. Mind you, it’s not only them who gave us perfect examples, we have got people like Papa E Hagin and many such others, some of them who are still alive. Great men and women of God. And God is saying “ask the ancient paths.”

What made them untouchable, mountain movers, giant killers, healers of sickness and diseases? What made them arise in their Christian experiences? Some of them are people who understood the principle of honour. They honoured God, they honoured the principles and they honoured men. And God says that we should ask so that we may become like them.

They never gave up, but we find that the church of today when they face some challenges they easily give up, they stop praying and they stop asking God. The Bible says, “this way is a good way” meaning that in this way you can find good and perfect ways. When you begin walking in this “way” the Bible says “you shall find rest for your soul”. So meaning if you find this way, your soul comes to a place of Sabbath where it finds rest.

For a lot of Christians their souls are not at rest because they have not found this way. What kind of people were women like Mary who was engaged but was still a virgin and we hear that the Lord Jesus Christ came from her womb because she was carrying purity. And God says “ask for the ancient paths”.

I would like to invite you to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that he is your Lord and Saviour, and you shall be saved. May God bless you all and this beautiful nation of Zimbabwe. Amen.
