Are your financial problems keeping you in church?

A LOT of Christians are poor. Actually most people who are Christian keep coming to church because of problems. The answer to most of the problems that keep them at church is money. Thus, it only goes to say, when most Christians have money, they skip church.

There is no one reason that stands as the sole reason why some of my brothers in the Lord are poor. All this yet they own the most powerful book in the world. The amazing thing though is that, Christians believe in praying for money to come to them. The truth is, the day you pray for money to come, and you see it coming in a whirlwind to your house is the day you must check into a mental hospital. I say this because this will never happen. Miracle money is black magic, it is not a Godly principle. The way God gives us money is simple, you go out and work, when you work, you earn some money. You take ten percent of that money, and take it to the house of God. God then protects the little you have and helps you to multiply it into more. He helps you through ideas. He gives you ideas to make you multiply your wealth.

Please understand me well. I am not ruling out the fact that God can send his children to assist you financially in a time of need. But I assure you, you cannot build wealth through handouts. Wealth creation requires you to have a strong work ethic. So it goes without say that hard work is a Godly principle. Jesus taught us investment in the parable of talents. He starts by outlining what each one was given.

Matthew 25:15

“To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.”

This means, when each of us are born, we have gifts that can make money for us. These gifts are not the same. They differ in all ways, size, type and even purpose. God’s responsibility is making sure that you have a gift. Turning it into a wealth creation tool is your responsibility. If God gave you the voice to sing, you do not sit and pray for it to be better and for people to offer you the stage to perform. You invest time in music practices, vocal training, recording and selling the work. All God expects is that when you get to Heaven you must have multiplied that one voice to sing into many things, like shows, albums, the salvation of soul, charity organisations, kingdom financing, and a lot more. All from one gift of sing.

The good thing is that God expects you to do it according to your ability. So no matter who you see doing what they do, understand that they are working within their abilities.

Matthew 25:19-23

“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.” His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” The man with the two talents also came. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.” His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

So in the parable they invested what the Lord gave them apart from one person. According to the master principle, because one was good at multiplying the few talents they got, they were actually rewarded with more. One would think the master should give to the one who has less. But not so with Jesus. The principle is simple, if you are failing to manage your salary, why would God give you ten streams of income. Instead if you can manage your salary and cause it to make you more money, God will actually give you even more. But if you fail to manage that one gift, God takes it away too. That is why the rich seem to get richer and the poor seem to be sinking deeper into poverty and dept.

You know how extra nice people that owe you money are. This last servant who sat on his talent tried this method with the master but the response he God was shocking. I bet even he did not expect it.

Matthew 25:24-30

Then the man who had received the one talent came. “Master,” he said, “I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.” “Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

According to the master, laziness and wickedness are synonymous. To him they are one thing. He say instead of sitting on the gift I gave you, you should have found a mentor, someone that understands your gift, worked under them. This would have multiplied the talent. He says instead of giving me back what I gave you, you should have been using your gift in the church so that when I return, you are a better musician through practice at the church.

So you see, it is simple. Unless you work, invest, re-invest until the master comes, you will die a poor man. This is regardless of how much you pray, God will not go to work on your behalf.
