HIGHLANDERS have concluded a three-year- deal for dribbling wizard Mafious Junior Chiweta while Chicken Inn have parted ways with their two senior players Danny Phiri and goalkeeper Pride Zendera.
Chiweta is joining Bosso from Bulawayo’s Ajax Hotspurs who play in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League.
The 19-year-old winger has caught the eye of Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu, who is rebuilding the squad for the 2025 PSL season following the departure of key players, Lynoth Chikuhwa, Peter Muduhwa, Marvelous Chigumira and Godfrey Makaruse.
All the four players joined newly promoted Scottland FC who are presently in Zambia for a pre-season camp.
Chiweta was a member of the Warriors Under-20 squad that impressed during the Afcon qualifiers in South Africa last year.
This means Chiweta will re-unite with his national teammates Prince Ndlovu and Mvelo Khoza who were part of the Under-20 squad and are already in the Bosso’s set up.

Mvelo Khoza
Chiweta becomes the latest new addition to the black and white family after defender Marlvin Hativagoni joined the club on loan from Bulawayo Chiefs.
He was with Ngezi Platinum for the second half of last season.
Efforts to get a comment from Highlanders over Chiweta’s deal were fruitless.
The destination of the ex-Chicken Inn duo of Phiri and Zendera is not yet known.
Their departure, after a long service to the club comes weeks after the club lost the services of Malvin Hwata who signed for Simba Bhora.
Phiri is a former Gamecocks and Warriors captain retraced to the club last year after a one year playing stint at Bulawayo Chiefs.
Before playing for Bulawayo Chiefs, Phiri had been exported to South Africa’s Golden Arrows.
Zendera, who once played in Swaziland, has been in the Gamecocks goalkeeping department for a long period where he played second fiddle to Warriors goalminder Donovan Bernard.
There is a fierce battle for the Chicken Inn number one jersey with the club believed to have got the signature of former Arenel goalminder Aaron Ngwenya while Prosper Matutu formerly with Bulawayo Chiefs is also going through assessments.
