POPULAR Bulawayo prophet, Dr Thabiso Ngwenya has gained considerable popularity in the neighbouring country of Botswana, attracting numerous nationals to his church and residence in Pumula South seeking spiritual assistance.

The Faith in Christ leader says there is always an outflow of people from Botswana and other areas annually during the just ended month of November due a special happenings in his church.

Ms Doris Rambutsi from Francis Town says she got to know Prophet Ngwenya via her Zimbabwean helper who told her to visit him for consultation.

“I had a problem with my daughter who had challenges with her health and we could not get help from hospital. So brought her to Dr Ngwenya and he prayed for him and she recovered. Since then she has continued with school and I have always brought in my friends during November for spiritual assistance,” she said.

Ms Rambutsi says they have fallen in love with Bulawayo as the neve miss coming in November to the city.

She said they spend a week attending the crusade held at the church premises. And support local business as they buy a local food and pay for accommodation.

Mr Edwin Lukuba from Letakane in the neighbouring country said his first encounter with the popular prophet was last year when he held a crusade in Francis town.

He said he had been invited to the crusade and was shocked when Dr Ngwenya picked on him and gave him a prophecy.

“I came to his November crusade last week because I had some challenges with my business. My cars were down and could not be fixed and he gave me the water and when I retuned I went to the garage and did as instructed and one of the cars that has been given me problems became okay. This is the car which I used to come here for the Sunday service,” he showing off his Mercedes Bens.

Another congregant from Seruwe said she had been postponing visiting Bulawayo due to negative media articles about the country but when he came she saw a different picture.

She said while some people may have doubts about seek spiritual help for their problems she has seen changes.

“First Zimbabwe is a boatful country I love it so much sometimes when we see your compatriots coming to work in our country we will be thing that you have a bad country try but far from it Zimbabwe is a very beautiful country. I came on with my friend who has been advising me to visit to help my issues prayed for. I am glad that he has advised me and prayed for me like his child, he is very humble despite his popularity,” she said.

Dr Ngwenya says people flock to his church in November and December due to special miracles that happen since years back.

He says it has always been that since the 1990s

“We hold special crusades in November and December and since years back we have had special testimonies. People are now aware of that and always flock so that we help them. My desire is to see our people`s challenges changed for the better. There are some issues that are spiritual and even if you take them to hospital you may not get help,” he said.

Dr Ngwenysa said this is the time of the month that famed South Africa musician Dr Rebecca Malope visited his church and received her life changing miracle.

The popular Prophet was this year honored by two United States universes which awarded him two honorary degrees with the celebrations to mark the event attended by top bras who included Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith Ncube and ZANU-PF political commissar Munyaradzi Machacha.
