A HISTORIC Thank You Bulawayo Economic Review gala and dinner is set to be held in the city at the end of this month to celebrate the resilience and endurance of Bulawayo’s business community over the past year.
Reflecting on the challenges faced in 2024 and setting the stage for the economic outlook in 2025, the landmark event will be held on January 31 and promises to be a significant gathering for industry leaders and stakeholders committed to the future growth of the city.
It is being hosted on by the Genesys Corporation in collaboration with office of the Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Bulawayo City Council (BCC), Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) and Tendy Three Investments (TTI) among other stakeholders.
In an interview, Genesys Corporation chief executive officer (CEO), Mr Louis Herbst said the event was not just a gala dinner, but an opportunity for the city’s leaders to engage directly with the captains of industry.
On January 31, the city hall will transform into a hub of economic dialogue and collaboration, there will be sharing of insights and laying the groundwork for a united approach to economic development for the city,” he said.
“As we move towards Vision 2030, the need for unity and collaborative effort has never been more apparent. The Thank You Bulawayo Economic Review gala will highlight the importance of working together to achieve common goals, fostering an environment where innovation and investment flourish.”
He said the event serves as a call to action for all stakeholders to invest in Bulawayo for the growth of its provincial gross domestic product (GDP) and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Mr Herbst said attendees could look forward to an event filled with inspiring speeches from key figures, including Government officials and industry leaders, along with networking opportunities, and discussions that will shape the economic landscape of Bulawayo for years to come.
He added: “The gala dinner represents a pivotal moment for our city, a chance to reflect on our achievements and set ambitious goals for the future. Alongside the discussions, the city will carry out an auction fundraiser for the underprivileged who have been affected by substance abuse and the girl child on teenage pregnancies.”
Mr Herbst said it was important to celebrate Bulawayo’s potential and resilience, paving the way for a prosperous and united future.
