A Lupane State University student is headed to Spain after coming tops in the Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe national beauty pageant.

Roseline Musekiwa, a Film, Television and Media Studies student, was recently crowned the queen while Takudzwa Hove emerged Mr Zimbabwe in the contests held virtually.

Contestants first went through face-to-face interviews and then followed up with a presentation of their portfolios virtually to judges.

“We are soon to be registered as an international pageant and under Parkstreet Entertainment Pvt Ltd Company that celebrates men and women of different cultures and backgrounds.

We are about empowering  them on realising and achieving their dreams.

Our Mission as Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe is  to empower young men and women in the modelling industry with leadership skills and community engagement that has positive impact in the country and the world at large.

We want to create leaders who are ambitious,  savvy, ready to take responsibilities and change the world around them.

“This year we hosted our second edition of the pageant in such a different way that engages a lot of people who support the industry and also motivating those with the passion but don’t have a platform to execute their dreams.

We also want to change the narrative within the modelling sector which is negative, also depriving those with the potential of being idols and icons that are not only recognised nationally but at an international level,” said Robert Chipazaure, directorate founder  of Parkstreet Entertainment and president and director of Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe.

He added that  title winners will  be involved in charity and awareness campaigns.

They will also represent the nation at an upcoming international competition entitled Miss and Mister Model Mediterraneo Global Zimbabwe set for Spain  in November 2022.

“Due to Covid-19 regulations we did virtual auditions whereby each and every single contestant across Zimbabwe sent us their portfolio  as well introduction videos.

As the organisers, we selected the best from what they sent and did online interviews until we got our finalist.

Before the event we also had physical interviews which were the second interviews with all the models.

Our selection committee then selected the winners.

As a pageant under Parkstreet Entertainment Private Limited we hold the licence of the pageant Miss and Mister Model Mediterraneo Global Zimbabwe and we are eligible to run it in this country,” said Chipazaure.

In 2021 Chipazaure  qualified in the top 10 of the international competition but  did not manage to travel for the competition.

He  is now  the national director of the pageant in the country.

Musekiwa took the Miss Glamour title with Concilia Missi first runner up while another Bulawayo Contestant Gari took the Mister Glamour Zimbabwe 2021 title with Emmanuel Marira his first runner up.

Miss Glamour Zimbabwe Second runner up was Tariro Shumba. Best male Model was Tatenda  Ngandu, Best female Model was Laiza and Male People’s choice was Nashley Brown. Female people’s choice title went to Sakhile Sibanda.

“The competition was stiff as it was my first official pageant on stage, not virtual only.

I am looking forward to the international competition,” said the overall winner, Musekiwa.
