SEASONED football administrator Dennis “Dadegulu” Tshuma who died on Tuesday last week will be buried this morning at his Kasibo Village home, Hwange District of Matabeleland North Province.

Tshuma, the Matabeleland North Zifa chairman at the time of his death died at the age of 54. At the time of his death, he was one of the longest serving Zifa councillors having assumed his role as far back as 2003. His body was expected to lie in state at his Kasibo homestead with the burial set for 10am.

Tshuma’s family had to fetch the body at Binga mortuary after the vehicle which was supposed to take it to Hwange developed a technical fault after dropping another body that came from a post-mortem done in Bulawayo. The late football administrator’s nephew who only identified himself as Blessing said: “All is set for the burial which will be held at 10am to allow those travelling to attend.”
According to Headman Chadamoyo Prosper Neshavi, Tshuma died in his sleep and was discovered on Tuesday morning.

“His wife was away. There was a man who was supposed to pick him up in the morning but he got no response as he had already left us. This is a big loss not only for the community but the country,” said Neshavi.

At the time of his death, Tshuma was in the national referees committee as a co-coordinator.
In their condolence message, Zifa said: “The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has learnt with great sadness about the passing of the Zifa Matabeleland North Provincial Chairperson, Dennis Tshuma. Our heartfelt condolences go to the Tshuma family, friends and the whole football fraternity at large.
