MDC-T’s proportional representation legislator for Matabeleland North, Dr Ruth Labode has tested for Covid-19.
Dr Labode who is also Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Health chairperson shared her results with Sunday News on WhatApp on Tuesday.
“I just received the results from Materdei Hospital Laboratory (in Bulawayo) but I had started self-isolating two weeks ago because of flue like symptoms. I am now waiting for City of Bulawayo nurses to visit my home. I need (your) prayer,” she said in a WhatsApp message.
Dr Labode said she had been in Parliament in the last 10 days ago.
Last week she went for testing at a local institution and initially tested negative using the rapid test.
“I had to pay USD$60 to get the PCR,” she said.
Dr labode becomes the second MP to come out open after testing positive for Covid-19 Harare South MP Cde Tongai Mnangagwa on Tuesday also revealed that he has tested positive for Covid-19.
