DYNAMOS coach, Lloyd Chigowe is confident his team will be fully prepared when they head into the highly anticipated Castle Challenge Cup against Simba Bhora at Rufaro Stadium in Harare on Saturday.
The match, which marks the start of the 2025 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, is set to kick off at 2.30pm.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Chigowe acknowledged that although the team is still in a rebuilding phase, they have made significant strides in preparing for the season opener.
“As a team, you are never perfect, but we are working on building a strong and competitive side. We have five days to finalise a formidable team that will compete. There is a lot of potential in our squad that we need to tap into. We are playing a team that has been in camp abroad, meaning they have prepared well, but we will be ready for the challenge,” said Chigowe.
Last year, Dynamos suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ngezi Platinum in the Challenge Cup, but Chigowe is hopeful that this season will bring a different result.

“It will be good for us to win the competition as this will set the right tone for the upcoming season,” said Chigowe.
The club has undergone several changes in both player personnel and backroom staff, with notable additions to the squad including 21-year-old Ghanaian forward Frank Agyemang, Leeroy Mavhunga, Tapiwa Masango, Tellmore Pio and Farai Mutatu.
The team has also seen departures, with senior players like captain Frank Makarati, Ghanaian Emmanuel Paga, and Namibian forward Sadney Urikhob leaving the club.
Dynamos have also made changes to their technical bench with the return of former player Ronald “Gidiza” Sibanda as team manager and the appointment of ex-Harare City coach Mark Mathe as assistant coach.
Tickets for the Castle Challenge Cup will see the rest of ground priced at $3, grandstand at $5 and VIP at $10. The VVIP stand is reserved for invited guests.
As the stage is set for what promises to be an exciting and competitive season, football fans are eagerly awaiting the first whistle of the 2025 Premier Soccer League set for 1 March.
