EXCITEMENT is building up for the returning Tanganda Half Marathon which is taking place in Mutare on 26 June.
The race is back after not being held in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Organisers of the race are targeting 1 000 runners and registration, which is pegged at ZWL$5 000 will only close once the targeted number of athletes have registered. Registration is being done online.
Farai Garayi, the Tanganda Tea Company Operations Manager said they have had requests for information about the race from as far as Kenya. Those who registered collected their race packs in Harare on Friday and yesterday.
In Mutare, the collections will be conducted on Friday as well as Saturday with no collection to be done on day of the race.
