KALLISTO Pasuwa’s Nyasa Big Bullets came from a goal down to beat Chicken Inn 2-1 in the fourth match of the Nyasa Four Team Bonanza tournament that was played at a buzzing Kamuzu Stadium.
The Gamecocks found their goal in the 12th minute from the boot of their new signing Clive Augusto who buried the ball home from inside the box after a beautiful pass from another Gamecocks’ new find Bret Amidu.

It was after they scored that the Joey Antipas-coached Gamecocks started to dictate the pace of the game treating an estimated 15 000 crowd to some catchy football.
Against the run of play, the hosts were awarded a free kick just outside the 18 yard box after visiting captain Moses Jackson was adjudged to have fouled bulky Righteous Banda.
Up stepped Henry Cabbage’s well taken curling shot beat ex-national team goalkeeper Donovan Bernard.
Ten minutes before the breather Gamecocks lost the services of enterprising Amidu who was victim of a Sankani Mkandawire lunge on his right sheen.
Consequently, accompanied by new Chicken Inn team doctor Willmore Kapuyanyika, Amidu, who was in serious agony, was ferried to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
After halftime, Nyasa fired the final bullet on Gamecocks after Chiukepo Msowoya tapped the ball home after Chicken Inn substitute goal minder Samuel Mafukidze had punched a Macpharlen Mgwira delivery from the right back on Msowoya’s path.

“At times it’s important to lose these kind of matches. We started well in the first half but we lost our rhythm in the second stanza. It’s a mistake that we made at a time we are still working on our combinations,” said Antipas.
Pasuwa, who made a total of nine changes on his team said they learnt a lot from the Zimbabwe’s 2015 champions who enjoyed the backing of Be Forward Wanderers supporters.
“After two games that we have played we have learnt a lot. Chicken Inn showed us how your opponents can be quick on the breaks and on changing the tempo of the game. However, we will not read much into the result,” said the former Warriors and Dynamos coach.
Today all the four teams will be afforded a day break and they will play their last matches tomorrow.
