ONE of Bulawayo’s biggest wholesalers, Good Deal Cash and Carry has temporarily closed shop to undertake extensive renovations.
The wholesaler has seen its staff absorbed to other going concerns.
Opened in 2020, Good Deal Cash and Carry has acquired a reputation of supplying local and imported consumer goods, food and soft drinks in the Matabeleland region at affordable prices.
“We closed our doors two months ago to refurbish our roofs and floors. We want to avoid a situation of dealing with a leaked roof when the rains come. We faced such a problem for the past two years. We will wait for the rains before we open, should we observe that the roof still leaks we will continue with the renovations.
“We trade in goods that are perishables and do not want moisture or water. We pride ourselves in providing the best customer services. Customer service extends to providing a safe environment, we don’t want to inconvenience our customers with wet floors and a leaking roof as this could pose a hazard in addition to being a nuisance to our valued customers,” said Mr Zak Patel, the company director.
The closure of the wholesale was phased to allow for retailers to stock up and loyal customers were given months’ worth of goods on credit that may last them until December.
“We take pride on delivering impeccable products and services to allow our customers to improve and increase their businesses. We did not just wake up and close. We communicated with our clients and they emptied the shop floor. We also gave a huge supply of goods to our loyal customers, which they have not exhausted up to now. Some even predict that the goods will last to December,” Mr Patel said.
He revealed that the renovations will enhance customer experience as Good Deal Cash and Carry is committed to excellence.
Mr Patel said: “I want to assure our customers that we are here to stay. We are not going anywhere as some feared. we are positioned to grow and offer a competitive edge that makes us extremely attractive to grocery retailers and the ordinary consumer. When Good Deal reopens, it will offer to our guests an enhanced experience. We take pride in delivering impeccable service to create memorable moments.
