ASK any business person and they will tell you to make money you need a certain degree of intelligence. It’s not rocket science, anyone that has more money than you knows something you do not thus has the ability to gather and retain more money than you.
When I say intelligence to most people, the first thing they think of is school. Contrary to what most people think, the type of intelligence required in this instance is not taught in school. Because in the first place schools have not been designed to test intelligence but obedience.
Let me use a simple example, a child is told in class that one and one put together give you two. At the end of the year the child is asked in an exam to solve one plus one. If he puts down two as the answer it only means the child remembered that the teacher once said one and one put together is two.
Simply remembering what you are taught is not intelligence. This is obedience and sharp memory, not intelligence. Intelligence is the application of what you know to bring out your desired outcome.
If then the issue is intelligence, one must learn to put into practice to apply what they know fully to achieve good outcomes. It also means you must know what goes on around you spiritually to achieve the best results.
Proverbs 4 verse 23
“above all else, guard your heart, for everything you are flows from it”
Luke 6 verse 45
“a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of”
Proverbs 23 verse 7
“for as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”
These scriptures tell us there is a relationship between your spirit, your heart and your mind. These three do not function independently from one another. The ability of one is strongly linked to the other.
The spirit is what God made in His likeness. Your heart refers to your inner desires, not the organ that pumps blood.
Your mind speaks of your thinking and reasoning capacity. Your contact point with God is your spirit. This means it is where God puts whatever he wants you to do or to manifest in the physical.
If God has given you a gift of singing, before you actually open your mouth to sing, this gift is in your spirit. The same is true with the devil, his contact point with you is your spirit, so whatever seeks to achieve within you is planted in your spirit and it eventually shows in the physical.
The entry into your spirit, however, is done using physical agents. With God prayer and fasting are good agents of getting access to your spirit man. With the devil, adultery is a good entry point for him. This because there are physical principles that have to be fulfilled before anything spiritual is done. Let’s use alcohol as a case study. During the time when I was drinking I realised something. Drinking is a very bad habit that is very hard to kick.
Alcohol itself is not addictive, but the fact that it is a habit that the devil plants in your spirit, it is impossible to kick without the Holy Spirit uprooting it from your spirit. That is why some people that drink even go as far as using scripture to justify drinking even though they are perfectly aware that it is wrong.
It is a spiritual thing. It is also a bit unfair to say those that are in this habit and are failing to stop lack discipline because without God they cannot do it. It is not an issue of discipline it is a spiritual thing.
We spoke of physical attributes to be fulfilled for spiritual purpose. Let me explain the purpose of alcohol to the devil. What alcohol does to the physical body is simple, it slows down the rate at which nerve impulses are sent around the body. It makes it slow for your mind to process things and reaction time to even the processed information becomes slow.
This is why it is not advised to drive or operate machinery while drunk, your reaction time is significantly slowed down or reduced if you like. This is what is called being drunk.
The dampening of nerves. That is why one can be injured in the state of being drunk and only feel the pain in the morning when the alcohol has worn off.
So in the state of being drunk the devil is able to manipulate the mind to do almost anything because although you are fully aware of what is going on.
You don’t really have much control over it. So the devil is always seeking to control you by planting things in your spirit and alcohol is just a vehicle to achieve this.
Now the heart; your heart is then inclined to what is in your spirit. Your heart yearns for things that are in your spirit, but the heart its self does not communicate these things on its own, it then uses the mind to think of ways to bring these into existence.
Have you ever wondered why some people are always working? They never get tired, all the time they are in work mode. Their mind always creates new projects for them to do.
It’s because the mind is pushing to achieve a threshold of income that exists in their heart. The mind is pushing to attain a condition that has been set in their spirit.
Ecclesiastes 1 verse 9
“what has been, will be again. What was done will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun”
This means that, everything we see in existence today has always been there. All of it has always existed. From the beginning when God created everything we see on this earth, even the modern things like cars.
Sounds crazy doesn’t it. How, you may ask. The car existed during creation, but only in the spirit, it was then planted in the spirits of people like Henry Ford and eventually men manufactured motor vehicles.
But everything has always been there. Even your new cell phone. It is new to you but to God is a billion years old and he wonders why you are going crazy over it. It must amaze God when we kill one another for physical things because it has always been there.
The reason God says a man is the sum total of his thoughts is fairly simple. All the thoughts of a men are rooted in what is in his heart and soul.
If the devil can use alcohol to drunken the mind and influence the heart to plant things in the Spirit then fittingly when you make sure to only fill your mind with thoughts of God and his word.
Within a short space of time you will notice a change in the way you behave and the way you perceive things because God himself will begin to dwell in your spirit and influence you.
So really restrict any entry into your heart, it is good that you do. Take care what enters you heart through your mind. What you watch, listen and participate in determine your ability to make money.
