“We are having the Body Works Family Fun Day, it’s also been incorporated with an aerobathan.

The plan was to have a fun day so the kids could also come and enjoy.

There is going to be a mini soccer tournament with four teams participating and netball, there will also be four teams participating.

“We are trying to raise funds because we have on 28 May Ironman in Kadoma, we are sending a team of about 10 athletes to that show and then on  2 June we are trying to send four of our athletes to Arnold Classic in South Africa, we’re just trying to raise some funds to sponsor them,’’ said Greenland.

It promises to be a fun filled day for fitness enthusiasts as 15 fitness trainers from Bulawayo will take to the stage for the aerobathan.

Sadly, for those who were looking forward to having taekwondo displays, those have been shelved due to funding issues.

“We are going to have 15 of our trainers from all the gyms in Bulawayo on one stage for between two to three hours depending on our daily schedule.

we may have the aerobathon at about 4pm until about 7pm.

We’re no more having the taekwondo, it was going to be too long and expensive, the amount of medals they wanted, they wanted to have a tournament, it was just supposed to be a display but they got the wrong concept,’’ Greenland said.

In terms of prizes, there will be floating trophies for football as well as netball winners with individual accolades also in store.

There are medals for the winners of the 100m sprint dashes, with the races being split for those under the age of 40 and those over.

Sportszone, a sports shop owned by former Zimbabwe Saints player Daniel Bingadadi donated the trophies and medals to be given out tomorrow.
