BULAWAYO football giants, Highlanders are set to take on Herentals College this afternoon in their Week 25 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) tie that will be played at Barbourfields Stadium.
Going into the duel, Bosso are coming from a nil-all draw they played against city neighbours, Chicken Inn at the same venue last Sunday.
In their Matchday 24 fixture, Herentals College edged Greenfuel 2-1 to take their points tally to 32, six behind Kelvin Kaindu mentored Highlanders.
In their last five games, Bosso have registered three draws, one win and a loss, which means they have managed to amass six points from a possible 15.
It is a development that speaks to a 40 percent success rate. On the other hand, the Students form guide reads W D D L L meaning they have managed to collect five points from a possible 15, which translates to a 33 percent success rate. Bosso will welcome the services of dependable Peter Muduhwa and Godfrey Makaruse.
Muduhwa missed Bosso’s last weekend derby match against the Gamecoks due to suspension. Makaruse was in the treatment room where young Prince Ndlovu has been ushered in after he picked a knock in their game against Chicken Inn.
Bosso will also be without midfield enforcer Melikhaya Ncube who picked his third yellow card last weekend.
“In terms of match preparation, we have good news and bad news. The bad is that Prince Ndlovu did not manage to finish the game we played against Chicken Inn. We are set to welcome Peter Muduhwa who was out due to suspension. He had gone for about nine to 10 games sitting on two yellow cards. So was Melikhaya Ncube
“Godfrey Makaruse was injured and he is certain that he will be available for our game against Herentals. It is very difficult to predict the result against Herentals. They have the zeal and they are very forceful. They have players that have got height,” said Kaindu.
In their first leg encounter Bosso and Herentals drew two all. This was after the black and white army surrendered a two goal cushion.
In other fixtures scheduled for this afternoon, Hwange will play host to Chicken Inn at the Colliery Stadium while Dynamos entertain noisy PSL new boys, Chegutu Pirates at Rufaro Stadium. Manica Diamonds have a date with Philani “Beefy” Ncube coached Arenel Movers.
Meanwhile, Highlanders have thanked their fans for avoiding crowd trouble at Emagumeni so far this season.
The club has a history of such incidents, which has seen them paying over US$95 000 in fines to the league in the past eight years.
The club posted on their official media platforms thanking their followers, urging them to shun violence.
“Thank you, MaBosso amahle, ngokuziphatha kuhle this season! We are proud to say we have had a VIOLENCE FREE football experience eBF so far… for the first time in 8 years! Ubuntu benu, sportsmanship and love for Highlanders made this possible.
“In the last eight seasons, your club paid US$95,708 in fines for crowd trouble. LIKULUNGISILE lokho… halalaa! SIYABONGA kakhulu, akuqhubeke kunjalo. Tshela umakhelwane ukuthi iBosso iyabonga!” – @FungaiMuderere
