BULAWAYO football giants, Highlanders are this afternoon set to take on equally hurt Hwange deep in the bowels of Colliery Stadium.
Staring at relegation, Chipangano will hope to get it right against Kelvin Kaindu-mentored Bosso who are smarting from a shock 2-0 away defeat they suffered at the hands of Bikita Minerals in a mid-week encounter that was played at Mutare’s Sakubva Stadium on Wednesday.
In their previous fixture, Hwange were edged 1-0 by Greenfuel. It was Bosso’s ninth defeat of the season that saw them remain in fifth place on the league table with 47 points.
Today, Bosso will be without the services of industrious McKinnon Mushore who is suspended. The attacking midfielder missed Bosso’s last game as he was part of the Warriors squad which took part in the Chan tournament where Zimbabwe was knocked out by Eswatini on a 4-0 aggregate scoreline.
Inform Lynoth Chikuhwa and Brighton “MaNinja” Ncube will be expected to lead the Bosso strike force that will depend on Marvin Sibanda, Marvelous Chigumira and Mason Mushore among others for a clean supply of balls. Simba Bhora wrapped up the season with two games left as they reached an unassailable 66 points with the 1-0 victory over Arenal Movers last Wednesday.
This meant the Shamva-based outfit joined St Paul’s Musami, Ngezi Platinum and FC Platinum as the only teams outside Harare and Bulawayo to win the Zimbabwean topflight league title. The Go Buju Go side, are also the first Mashonaland Central team to achieve this feat. In other Week 33 matches set for this afternoon, noisy Chegutu Pirates will entertain CAPS United at Baobab Stadium.
Herbert Maruwa’s TelOne will play host to Arenel Movers at Gweru’s Ascot Stadium. In their bid to avoid the dreaded relegation chop, Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda and his Bulawayo Chiefs charges will seek to utilise home advantage in switching off ZPC Kariba in a match that will be played at Luveve Stadium.
Dynamos, who are enduring in-house problems that saw their players engage in another industrial action during the course of the past week, have a home tie against Manica Diamonds. Yadah Stars will fight it out against Greenfuel at Heart Stadium.
