MULTI-TALENTED poet and actress Lady Tshawe is set to give the arts a fresh dose of her skills when she debuts Unfrozen Soul, a solo poetry show, at Sabela Studios (ZITF), in Bulawayo on 17 June.
The poetry show comes after her successful performance with Songs of Queen Lozikeyi at the recently held Dubai Expo. The show’s name came up as Lady Tshawe, now married mother of one, took a reflection of her personal life, where she believes she is now coming into her own and now fully understands who she is mentally and spiritually.
“Like a caged bird set free, I feel like my soul has been thawing hence the name Unfrozen Soul, I now understand life better,” she said of the show.
Lady Tshawe’s eight-year journey, which began with the poetry anthology Inscriptions of an Inspired Soul, in the arts has seen her earning a reputation as one of the city’s best performers and wordsmiths. Her fusion of poetry and music has made her one of the city’s most compelling and potent artistes.
Unfrozen Soul will be produced by Sabela Projects a company that has been heavily involved in promoting her work since she started her creative journey.

At the event, which will be hosted a day before her 32nd birthday, Tshawe will be launching her second book titled Revelations in Winter.
“At this event I will celebrate all things I have learnt over the years and take time to reflect on my personal journey in the arts, hence being done a day before my birthday, it is my hope that all who have followed my work will be a part of the event,” he said.
Lady Tshawe said she was only continuing tradition, as she comes from a rich line of Nguni creative thinkers, while being primarily inspired by her father, the Deputy Chief Secretary for Social Services in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Reverend Paul Damasane, who is also a poet. She also said her artistic style embodies her ability aspirations and achievements as an artiste.
