Letters to the Editor: Suspended youths are no saints

The Sunday News

L Makombe, Harare

We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. If one says he is without, he is liar.

The suspended Zanu-PF youths are no saints at all and hopefully they agree to that. The problem I have with them is that since last year, Zacc is still waiting for their evidence and formal report that so and so is corrupt.

For them to say because they have publicly labelled some people corrupt, thus Zacc should investigate those people is not correct.

It is like NetOne saying that Econet or Telecel is corrupt and the police should investigate them.

If you are in the system, why not use the system to flush out corruption. The problem with some of us  is that we envy the wealth of others, and I don’t want to believe the youths are like that.

But I agree that Zacc and all the responsible authorities — ZRP, RBZ, Zimra and NPA — and also civil society should urgently address the cancer of corruption as of yesterday.

Zacc and NPA might strengthen their structures and at the end of the day still deliver nothing. What we want are results.
