Everyone has talent, what is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads. These words echo Hubert Dumisani, also known as Maforty who has been in the comedy industry for sometime and has been opening all doors that present themselves to him.

“I have performed at various comedy nights and festivals in the country. The major highlights so far are: Shoko Festival, Intwasa Arts Festival, Ibumba Festival. I have performed in Harare, Bulawayo, Masvingo and Gweru and I hope I can perform in other towns in Zimbabwe.  I performed at Maun International Arts Festival in Botswana late last year and I recently performed in Gaborone,” he said.

Asked on what is unique about his comedy, he did not hesitate to point out that his comedy is clean and evokes hearty laughter.

“What I think makes my comedy content unique is that it is a blend of clean, intellectual and witty humour that evokes hearty laughter without being inappropriate. Emphasis being on the clean part, I believe comedy can still be as funny without being vulgar and this helps to make it an experience enjoyed by everyone,” said Maforty. The rib cracking comedian also expressed his happiness by the way his comedy is being appreciated in Botswana.

“It is awesome. To have people relate to your content and give you a standing ovation in a different country is amazing.   I performed at Maun International Arts Festival in Botswana late last year and recently performed in Gaborone,” he said.

He also announced that his fan should expect more from him as he is starting a new club with T1nda called Sanctified Comedy Club.

“T1nda and I are starting a comedy club called Sanctified Comedy Club. We are to have a show on 20 May called Afreakans Comedy. We will be sharing the stage with Keith Nkosi, SA-based Comic as he will be returning to the Bulawayo stage after years in SA. We will also have SP the Oneliner from Harare.

These are some of his achievements; Roil BAA Outstanding Newcomer 2018, Roil BAA Outstanding Comedian Nominee 2018, top Comic at Shoko Festival 2017.
