Passionate and determined 19 year- old model Jemima Mandemwa has been crowned beauty queen a couple of times and is aiming to become Miss World in the future.

The model last week related to Sunday Life when and how she began her modelling career.

“The journey started from a “toddlers and tiaras” minor Queen to a “universal fit” Miss Super Globe Zimbabwe 2019.The journey was full of excitement, disappointments and opportunities so far. I started modelling at the age of six  where l was crowned Miss Little Sunshine Bulawayo 2006. I got my inspiration from Miss Malaika Zimbabwe, Britta Masalethulini who portrayed an image of elegance, intelligence and poise. l admired her throughout her reign and it drove me to work towards being Miss World someday.

“I continued with the shine of a beauty queen and it got me several titles at primary school. I was crowned Miss Robert Tredgold Primary School Upper Junior 2012 and that presented me with the opportunity to gain popularity affording me the chance to meet respected people in the modeling industry one of them being Sarah Mpofu,” she said.

Jemima shared with this publication her disappointments, achievements and challenges.

“At the age of 15 I had the desire to contest for Miss Teen Zimbabwe in 2016 but l couldn’t because of my O level exams, 2018 wasn’t pretty much my year as l lost a few titles like Miss Bulawayo Junior, I never gave up and instead worked hard in building a confident me. That helped me a lot because I must say 2019 is a blessed year for me ,as l started off with being crowned Miss Victoria Falls Zimbabwe, in mid-February my next title was Runway Queen for the award winning Empress Primy Designs,”

“After a 2 months break I signed up for Miss Nust 2019,it came as a disappointed as l was only crowned the first runner up not the Queen and the same happened with Miss Teen Zimbabwe 2019.But I did not allow any of that to bring me down hence I signed up for Miss Super Globe Zimbabwe and Iam proud to say lam the reigning Miss Super Globe Zimbabwe and lam looking forward to bringing the crown home, as l will be in Dubai in a few months’ time to represent our nation.

“The challenges I have encountered as a model and student are balancing the two different fields and overcoming this I practiced good time management with the use of a timetable and a schedule diary. The other challenge has to been critics I received during the early stages of professional modeling and I overcame this by working with other models in coming up movements that are defined models,” Jemima said.

The model shared with this publication her future plans.

“The biggest goal is to be Miss World and partner with Unicef and other NGOs in providing sufficient educational tools for girls in marginalized areas around the world.I also aim at starting a pageantry academy as I have started with Teen Models Association Zimbabwe and Miss Teen Intellect Zimbabwe, above all, l pray the almighty grants me the opportunity to be the most impactful female leader for the girl child worldwide,” she said.
