THE Lexington Mujokoro saga is not yet over despite the player being registered to play for his parent club First Mobile Soccer Academy( FMSA).

Mujokoro last month appealed for an opportunity to revive his fading career by being allowed to play for a club of his choice. However,  a reaction to that attracted a barrage of complaints from FMSA the club that groomed him and released the boy to Bulawayo Chiefs a few years ago.

The youngster who appeared to be the next best thing out of Bulawayo, had expressed his desire to get to the field and came close to signing with Arenel.

FMSA appeared to have granted him his wish to play. They registered him for the second transfer window preparing him to get fit ahead of a seemingly certain move to a South African team.

According to club founding member and director Isaac Mbedzi who also bankrolls the project, there is a team that was ready to pounce on the boy in August. But to protect the boy they decided that he should play for the next four months and get himself fit.

Mbedzi said his club which has over 30 players in the Premiership, Division One and outside the country, does not block players when they want to move.

“We take care of our players and we release them when they want to leave, why keep a boy who has outgrown your development programme? The main aim is to empower them and then allow the boys to move elsewhere when the time arrives. For your own information, we have helped the boy so many times and even his family.

“We are not even contemplating disciplinary action on him, we want him to play football and he has committed to the club contrary to speculation,” said Mbedzi.

When FMSA thought the drama was over, last Monday Mujokoro with his grandmother in tow, created a scene at the Zifa offices alleging that the forms he filled were for the botched move to Arenel.

Premier Soccer League forms are not filled at Zifa.

Mujokoro was turned away from Mpopoma Sports Academy (Mposa) last week as he wanted to train with the club.

“We do not want to be seen as the bad boys of the league. He has to sort himself out with his club. As Mposa we do not want to be fighting any member of the football family,” said James Rugwevera of Mposa.

Zifa Bulawayo Province boss, Francis Ntutha confirmed that Mujokoro was issued with a licence to play for FMSA in Division Two.

“As far as we are concerned he filled forms as consent to play for FMSA and not any other club. His case is sealed for now,” said Ntutha.
