SEVEN times in a row Mr Bulawayo, Lovemore Munyamana has promised fireworks when he takes part in the Designer Physique, a bodybuilding show to be held in Botswana’s capital city on Saturday evening.

The 35-year old Munyamana is competing in the Designer Physique for the first time and is targeting to win both his under 75 kilograms category and then the men’s overall prize. If he manages to do that, Munyamana, here with his teammates from Body Works Gym can return to Bulawayo with P7 000 in his pocket.

“I am promising fireworks, I have pressure since I am a champion back home in Zimbabwe but I don’t carry that tag wherever I go. I must put extra effort so that I place better,” Munyamana said.

Munyamana is eager to make it past the under 75 kilogram section where he will then go up against the winner of the over 75kgs category.

“If I qualify for the overall, I promise fireworks still just because I can win it. I am geared enough, the other athletes prepared for this show just like me. I can’t say I will beat everyone, I can be beaten, I expect anything in this sport,’’ he said.

A week ago, Munyamana won his weight division at the PPC Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Open Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships where he was beaten to the overall men’s crown by South Africa based Zimbabwean Ndumiso Dlodlo.

What has enhanced Munyamana’s chances of walking away with the top prize is the absence of defending champion, South Africa domiciled Edward Mutero and the uncertainity over Dlodlo’s participation.

Kylie MacDonald

Three other Body Works Gym bodybuilders are in Botswana for the third installment of the Designer Physique. Female bodybuilder, Kylie MacDonald is eyeing yet another accolade after winning the women’s bikini fitness at the PPC ZITF show. Also gunning for yet another title is Prechard “Carter” Hoko who is competing in the men’s physique. Hoko took the men’s physique up to 176 centimetres category before losing the overall title to Blessing Sithole.

Delvin Page, also of Body Works Gym is going up against Munyamana in the under 75kg and will certainly be hoping to finish better than sixth spot he achieved in Bulawayo last Saturday.
Zibusiso Khumalo, another Bulawayo based bodybuilder is competing in the junior men Under-23.

Body Works Gym director, Nathan Greenland personally drove his bodybuilders all the way down here from Bulawayo and will be hoping that they do him proud by taking home all the top prizes on offer. Besides the cash incentives, other prizes at the Designer Physique are in the form of household and electrical goods sponsored by Home Corp Botswana.
