No deaths recorded in Zimbabwe in the past 24 hours

ZIMBABWE has not recorded any covid-19 death in the past 24 hours, an improvement from a trend where the country was recording multiple deaths in the recent past.

Currently, the covid-19 death toll stands at 104 with the youngest death of a three week old baby having being reported last week in Hwange, Matabeleland North Province.

The baby was born with various congenital malformations and tested positive for covid-19 after a post mortem was conducted.

According to the daily covid-19 report from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, 99 new cases were reported.

“Ninety-nine new cases and no deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Of the new cases, 68 are local and 31 are returnees from South Africa. Active cases went up to 3 120, and 87 new recoveries were recorded,” read the report.

As of Monday the country has now recorded 4 748 positive cases and 104 deaths.

Bulawayo province has 434 active cases at the moment, 654 recoveries, 23 deaths and eight new cases as of Monday.

At least 473 PCR tests have been conducted so far.

Harare province has the largest number of active cases which stand at 1685, 55 deaths, 49 new case and 76 recoveries.
