RETAIL giant OK Zimbabwe has reassured stakeholders of its commitment to restoring business viability amid intermittent product supply challenges during the festive season.

The company said it is working to restore normal supply levels after facing a dip in business characterized by low product supply raising questions on sustainability and job security for employees.

In a statement, Group Company Secretary Mrs Margaret Munyuru expressed appreciation for the continued support and trust of stakeholders and emphasized the company’s dedication to serving them with excellence.

“It has come to our attention that there has been a surge of frenzied and speculative commentary circulating on social media regarding the viability and going concern status of OK Zimbabwe Limited,” she stated.

“We assure all stakeholders—including customers, shareholders, employees, and partners—that our stores are open for trading. While we faced supply challenges during the festive period, we remain committed to serving our loyal customers and contributing to the economic growth and development of Zimbabwe.”

Mrs Munyuru acknowledged the support of supplier partners, bankers, and other stakeholders during a time when the company, along with much of the formal retail sector, has been adversely affected by a volatile operating environment.

She added that OK Zimbabwe is actively engaging with suppliers and key stakeholders including industry associations and regulators to return supplies to normal levels while exploring solutions to stabilize the trading environment.

“We are committed to transparency and open communication with all stakeholders. Our corporate pledge is to continue to make happiness tangible by planting smiles on our employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, and the communities we operate in,” she noted.

“Should there be any official updates or announcements regarding the company’s financial status, we will communicate them through the appropriate channels in a timely and responsible manner.”
