THE Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is set to get a huge chunk in the 2025 National Budget of Zimbabwe Dollar (ZiG) 46,638 billion out of the budget envelope of ZiG 276.4 billion.
Presenting the 2025 National Budget at the New Parliament Building in Mount Hampden, Harare, on Thursday afternoon, Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube said the during the 2025 National Budget formulation stage, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) submitted total bids of over ZiG$700 billion, against the available budget envelope of ZiG276.4 billion.
He said this was more than double the ceiling of revenue collection capacity of 19.6 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).
Prof Ncube said the available resource envelope was allocated to MDAs as follows in ZiG and approximately equivalent in US Dollars:
