THE Rainbow Amateur National league vice-president, Patrick Dovi has read out the riot act to teams playing under their banner last week.

Speaking before the qualifiers of the Independence Day Trophy knock-out tournament held at Girls College which was attended by Platinum Queens, Glow Petroleum, GoldReef and Golden Valley, Dovi put emphasis on professionalism and protection of the brand.

“We want to have a professional leadership of Ranl games as you are aware that these teams are sponsored by companies.

“These companies have a brand to protect as much as teams have their own brands to protect which they have built over years.

“So we are saying to the managers of the teams lets embrace the sponsor, let’s keep the brand and uphold it as no sponsor wants to be associated with a league that littered with indiscipline from teams and their management,” said Dovi.

According to Dovi, Ranl is a project by the people for the people, it is community-based league whose major goal is to empower the girl child by taking netball to all corners of the country.

It has a membership of 20 teams at national level who are spread over six playing provinces including other minor leagues.

Accordingly at the end of any tournament held auspices of the league all players walk away carrying something either monetary or in the form of awards, added Dovi.
