TWO Bulawayo sisters are wanted for questioning in connection with the accident that claimed Glen View South legislator, Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java.

Nomazulu was in Mrs Tsvangirai-Java’s employ and sources claim after the accident she had called her younger sister, Patience informing her that she had evidence and had been told by the late legislator that there was foul play involved in her accident.

“After the phone call, Patience also confided the issue to a few friends who unfortunately leaked it to the authorities but our suspicions are that these people were listening to the cellphone conversations because, when Patience was initially arrested they had details of the conversation.

“She was taken for questioning by the police of which she later told us she had been beaten and raped by those that had arrested her. She however managed to escape from custody and related her story to me, I managed to help cross the border to South Africa where we hope the authorities will not be able to trace her,” said a friend who declined to be named in fear of victimization.

Contacted for comment, police sources denied harassing Patience however confirming that they were interested in questioning both sisters as they had claimed to have evidence that would assist them in their investigations.

“We just wanted to question them because if someone says they have information pertaining a case we would naturally want to followup on that,” said the police source.

Mrs Tsvangirai-Java was involved in a head-on vehicle collision that claimed two other party members, her campaign manager and organising secretary for her constituency Paul Rukanda, and Tafadzwa

Mundwa, her late mother, Susan’s cousin.

The driver of the Mazda vehicle that was involved in the head-on collision with Vimbai’s car was being driven by one Staff Sergeant Lunga of army ordinances.
