Bruising encounters are expected this afternoon when  Bulawayo Social (BSSL) Soccer zonal winners draw out their swords to take part in the Founders Cup tournament battle royale.

According to the fixtures pushed out by Edison Sibanda the “Wafa Wafa” knockout stage has paired  Magwegwe Bullets  with their neighbours Magwegwe Wolves at the local high School of Magwegwe.

Another explosive encounter is expected at Mpopoma where former Highlanders legend Douglas ”British” Mloyi aided by his Mthala troops host troublesome neighbours Skippers at Bango ground.

A mouthwatering encounter is on the menu at the home of local football Makokoba the battleground for Makwee who take on Santos at Mazai ground. 

Pelandaba Community are in for a treat when Western Commonage trade leather with Siyabangena at Phelandaba ground.

 Emakhandeni based Man U are scheduled to host Pool A log leaders Old Timers all the way from Pumula. 


The only team standing from Cowdray Park Masters will play host to Glenkara at their favourite hunting ground TM Cowdray Park.

Hosea Mkhwanazi, the Organising secretary said even though their fixture looks tough they are positive they will proceed to the next stage.

“”We have a tough game ahead of us, but we are positive that we will go through to the next round.

In terms of our preparations we have prepared for this game, our aim is to win the Cup this time around,” he added.

The last game on the day is between Edgars and 70 Combination at Somhlolo ground.

The teams are the survivors from round one which featured sixty teams.

Stars FC  the reigning Champions after pipping Celtics 1-0 to win the last edition played in 2021 have a date with the same team at their Iminyela One ground.

The Founders tournament is held annually to honour the founders father’s of the league led by Chris “Zvidobidobi” Mhlanga.
