PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has granted a State assisted funeral for the late Chief Vusumuzi Khumalo Mabhikwa and has also assigned Vice President General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga to represent him at the burial.

Chief Mabhikwa passed away last Sunday following a fatal road accident and is expected to be buried on Saturday in Jotsholo.

In a statement Chief Secretary in the office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said the President’s pronouncement was in recognition of Chief Mabhikwa’s dedication and commitment to national duty as a traditional leader.

“Following the untimely passing on of the late Chief Vusumuzi Khumalo Mabhikwa arising from a fatal road accident on Sunday, 22 May, 2022, His Excellency the President, Dr ED Mnangagwa, has directed that the late Chief Mabhikwa be granted State-assisted funeral.

“This is in recognition of his dedication and commitment to national duty as a traditional leader and public servant. The President has assigned his deputy, the Honourable Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga, to represent him at the late Chief’s funeral in Jotsholo tomorrow, Saturday, 28 May, 2022,” reads the statement.
