Zimbabwe Physical Education and Sports Teachers Association (Zipesta) have partnered with Premier Services Medical Aid Society (PSmas) in running health and wellness programmes in schools and communities countrywide.

Zipesta, which is an organisation meant to provide the opportunity and encouragement for talented Zimbabwean Physical Education and Sport teachers to achieve excellence in Physical Education and Sport and sport related activities partnered with PSMAS with an aim of harnessing the necessary skills in health assessment activities in physical education as well as sports.

Premier Lifestyle Manager, Munyaradzi Mujuru said they identified Zipesta as an ideal partner best placed to drive physical activities because of its privileged position in physical education and sports related activities.

“It wishes to capacitate them and also gain knowledge in terms of wellness and picking up certain health risks within their field,” said Mujuru.

With PSMAS having already started training teachers drawn from the various districts across the country, the National Chairperson of Zipesta, Edison Chirodza, believes the partnership will go a long way in helping the association achieve its objectives.

“This support that we are getting from PSMAS will give us specific knowledge that we are not offered and that our teachers had not received from college and with PSMAS we are able to acquire more and in turn it will help us with our objectives,” said Chirodza.
