A COUCH is a crucial piece of furniture in any living room. It is the core of the shared family space and it is also an element that gives the room sophistication and often dictates the entire design.

It anchors your space and it is usually where most families spend their time relaxing. Hence, selecting the right one is crucial. Before you buy a couch, consider the style of your space and how much you will use the couch.

Ask questions such as what is the couch meant for? Is it meant for entertaining visitors or for everyday family use?

Where is it going to be placed . . . will it sit in a lesser or more used room of the home? Such questions will help you decide the type, size and colour of the couch to buy.

Your lifestyle and décor preferences will determine the choice of the couch because they have varying levels of formality.

There is a two-seater couch which is also called a modern love-seat. It is a smaller version of a couch. People who live in small spaces who still want a two-seater can opt for a loves-seat instead of a full sofa.

It was designed to provide a comfortable sitting area for two people chatting. The shape and design make your space look beautiful.

There is also modern design (sectional or three-seater sofas) that can transform the common form of the room into something different.

They are a very nice example of versatility and flexibility as it complements any living room beautifully.

These type of couches reinvent the simplest details and guide them towards a more efficient and functional version. All it takes is a curved line or an angle that is not supposed to be in that particular space.

Retro square arm sofas (traditional couches) immediately give your space a fresh retro look. Whether it is a vintage piece you reupholster or a new reproduction, these types of couches are extremely versatile for the more formal living room space or comfortable family room.

Make your home look elegant by pairing couches with bold or patterned fabrics with cushions in solid colours.

Mixing dusty pink hues with strong colours like dark brown or navy can also be a great combination. If you have a small living area, opt for corner couches to maximise your space. Relax in comfort and style on a couch that works for your space.
