IN an effort to spur Chicken Inn Football Club to their first championship in seven years, the club’s main sponsors Simbisa Brands have reportedly tabled a massive US$125 000 incentive if Joey Antipas’ men win the 2021/2022 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, Sunday Sport can exclusively reveal.

The Gamecocks, who are set to meet seemingly resurgent Highlanders this afternoon, have so far enjoyed a fine run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign amassing a total of 26 points.

“The Simbisa Brands management has tabled a US$125 000 championship winning incentive.

The amount is going to be shared by the team’s players and officials.

The belief is that the current squad has so far done well to land the club’s second PSL top gong,” said a reliable source in the Gamecocks corridors who requested anonymity.

Club president Lifa Ncube, who, however, did not commit to giving finer details of the monetary incentive confirmed the Gamecocks could be singing on top of their voices come season end if they take number one in this contest.

“The boys have done well since the start of the season.

Who can stop them from getting what they deserve.

Without mentioning monetary figures, which will keep on motivating them, we have been told our sponsors have put something on the table if the boys do win the championship,” said Ncube in a brief interview.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo Chiefs edged basement side Bulawayo City 1-0 courtesy of Obriel Chirinda’s second half strike that further condemned Bulawayo City at the bottom of the table.

City coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube” conceded it was about time he called it quits.

“It’s 95% that a coach should say this is the time to quit.

The results are not coming,” said the out spoken Ncube.

Chiefs coach Nilton Terrosso said: “I am happy for the fight and the team.

We played some exciting game.

We created a lot of opportunities of which we buried one.”
