CHILDREN of Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association (CZLWVA) Bulawayo Province has embarked on a recruitment drive to bring more youths to the ranks of its mother party, Zanu-PF.

CZLWVA Bulawayo Province chairman Cde Gift Muhomba said they want to see more children of war veterans joining both the party and their organisation.

He said it was critical for youths to be official members of the party, adding that they were worried by the low numbers of youths in their structures. Speaking at a function to hand over food stuff to district executives at the war veterans offices in Entumbane yesterday, Cde

Muhomba said they were on a path to revive the districts and embark on projects to assist them generate income.

“The focus among young people is income generation and we are embarking on various initiatives that include farming, breadmaking, making petroleum jelly and fish farming among others. I think about three-quarters of children of war veterans are not in the party structures hence we need to reach out to them and ensure they are active,” he said.

“There is a huge number of children of war veterans at tertiary institutions but some are struggling to pay their fees after the age of 24 so we are assisting them in that regard. We are also actively securing jobs for them in various sectors of the economy,” he said.
