The Warriors technical team has named 30 players in the provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameron next month.

Players are expected to start arriving for camp in Harare on Thursday, with the final squad to make the trip to Cameroon to be announced on 31 December.

The Afcon is scheduled to run from 9 January to 6 February. Zimbabwe are in Group B together with Senegal, Malawi and Guinea.

Highlanders defender, Peter Muduhwa, Petros Mhari, Taimon Mvula, Bill Antonio, Tapiwa Sibanda, Godknows Murwira, Frank Makarati, Kelvin Madzongwe, Shepherd Mhlanga and Panashe Mutimbanyoka are the locally based players in the provisional squad.

Tanzania based striker, Prince Dube is in the squad as he has recovered from injury and is back playing for his club, Azam.

Zimbabwe have already lost Marvelous Nakamba, Brendan Galloway and Marshal Munetsi to injury while Tendayi Darikwa asked to be excused from the tournament.

Mamelodi Sundowns left back, Divine Lunga is a notable absentee from the squad announced. Onismor Bhasera, Bruce Kangwa and Jordan Zemura are the players who can play on the left side of defence who have been named in the squad.
