ZIMBABWEAN sportspersons have taken to social media to congratulate Warriors midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba after his English Premier League side Aston Villa survived relegation on Sunday.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from cricket, football and rugby stars after Villa avoided going down from what is considered the best league in the world.

Zimbabwe born former Springboks prop Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira is one of the those who applauded Nakamba and his Aston Villa teammates for managing to keep their place in the EPL.

“Congrats Wangu @Nakamba_11 and the whole squad on a spectacular finish Flag of #homeboy,’’ tweeted Mtawarira.

Chevrons all-rounder Sikandar Raza praised Nakamba with belief that the Zimbabwean midfielder and his team will be much better come next season.

“Many congratulations to @AVFCOfficial and to our own “Always Smiling” @Nakamba_11 on their performance on the final day and ensuring their @premierleague for next season. No doubt they will become harder and stronger,’’ said Raza.

Former Dynamos striker Norman Maroto commended Aston Villa for managing to stay up and shared sentiments of many Zimbabweans who wish to see Nakamba turning out for his team.

Warriors star player, Khama Billiat had this to say: “Congrats member on the fighting True Warrior”

Nakamba and his teammates ensured that they will be playing in the EPL next season when they drew 1-1 away against West Ham United at the London Stadium. The draw saw them finish 17th on the log with 35 points. Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich were relegated.
