ZimDigital calls for content creators

The Zimbabwe Digital Broadcasting (ZimDigital) migration project commissioning committee is set to go around the country calling for proposals from content creators for television productions.

The committee will allow content creators to pitch their proposals from 18 to 20 February in Victoria Falls, Plumtree, Chimanimani, Nyanga, Kariba and Marondera. In Victoria Falls artistes can bring their proposals at office 8 Bata Building, Parkway Road. In Plumtree the event will be held on the same dates at Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services offices DA’s camp. Similar events will be held at Inyanga and Beitbridge from 22 to 24 February.

Proposals to be admitted should indicate which genre they fall under, budget production which should cater for location, cast, crew subtitles, voice overs and other production costs.

The proposal should not be more than five pages, typed and printed on an A4 paper in portrait format, stapled at the top left hand corner without any binding. The envelope should contain three copies and it should include name, address and telephone numbers of contact person.

The content creators should have a synopsis which will include a detailed treatment outlining what the producer is trying to achieve and also indicate the number of episodes and duration of programmes on television.

The ongoing migration from analogue to digital television broadcasting will result in the creation of more television channels and consequently boost appetite for content. Twenty four new TV and radio channels will be opened under the ZimDigital project that will see most parts of the country getting radio and television transmission signals upon completion.
