THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has announced a significant financial and fuel disbursement for this year with a substantial ZWG11.6 billion and 2 million litres of fuel set aside to bolster the nation’s road infrastructure.

The road administration has already disbursed ZWG4.7 billion while 1.9 million litres of fuel was disbursed last year, demonstrating a commitment to consistent and timely funding.

In its latest actual financial disbursement schedule for the year ending 31 December 2025, ZINARA revealed a remarkable achievement in Matabeleland South, where all urban road authorities successfully accessed 100 percent of their allocated budgets.

“The road fund administration has set aside ZWG11.6 billion and 2million litres for this year. ZWG4.7 billion has been disbursed,” reads the schedule.

Furthermore, the administration reported that 58 out of 94 road authorities across the country accessed their full fuel allocations, highlighting improved efficiency in resource distribution.

The administration also noted a notable increase in roadworks completed last year with 37 000 kilometres of road works finished against a target of 30 000 kilometres. This surpasses the 23 000 kilometres completed in 2023, indicating a significant acceleration in road development.

In a further testament to the efficiency of the disbursement process, ZINARA confirmed 100 percent consistency in disbursements, ensuring that funds and fuel reach the intended recipients without delay.

Additionally, 63 out of 94 road authorities achieved 100 percent uptake of their allocated funds.

Two provinces, Manicaland and Mashonaland East distinguished themselves with 100 percent uptake of their allocations, further highlighting the positive impact of ZINARA’s streamlined processes.

The substantial investment by ZINARA is expected to drive significant improvements in road infrastructure, facilitating smoother transportation, boosting economic activity, and enhancing the overall quality of life for Zimbabweans.
