THE start of the Bulawayo Pool Association’s league has been tentatively set for 14 March. The BPA executives and the clubs met last week and resolved that both the Premier and Division One league would start on the same day. The clubs registration fees for the Premier League are pegged at $100 with the player registration fee at $275. Those in the Division One will part with $50 and $250 for club and player registration, respectively.
The player registration fee covers 30 players and a fee of $10 will be required for an extra player.

The secretary-general of the BPA, Raphael Mukucha said the registration fee can either be paid once off or through installments with all the teams expected to have fully registered by end of May.

“A team can either pay the amount at once or pay it in three installments, but May 31 is the deadline for the final installment. By the 4th of March, all teams should at least have paid the minimum registration fees,” said Mukucha.

Following the promotion of clubs such as Enkudleni, Fundukulinda, Egodini and Lounge Sharks, Mukucha warned the other clubs not to underestimate the new kids on the block as they might cause upsets.

“They should not be underrated because they might bring their own dimension of skill which clubs that have been there are not aware of,” he said.
While four clubs were promoted to the top flight league, the other four, Donnington, United Bulawayo Hospitals, Drill Hall and Mnethi were demoted.
