IN 2019, Try Ncube caused heartache for Talen Vision when he led Bulawayo City to the Zifa Southern Region Division One title which saw Amakhosi being promoted to the Premier Soccer League.

Bulawayo City and Talen Vision were involved in a heated race for the sole Southern Region ticket to the PSL, a battle won by Amakhosi.

Fast forward to March 2021, Ncube has now joined Talen Vision as they look to bolster their technical team in a bid to challenge for the Southern Region ticket to the top flight.

The former Bulawayo City coach, who signed a two-year contract, comes in as first assistant at the Bulawayo-based side which is coached by Mark Mathe.

Ncube resigned from City in January last year to take on a new challenge at Mosi Rovers but has left the Victoria Falls based team without being in charge of a single match since domestic football has been suspended from March last year when measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus were introduced.

TV general manager, Juma Phiri said they intend to reap from Ncube’s experience as they plunge into another battle for promotion.

He said they were making preparations to ensure they are off the starting blocks early when the football season starts.

“We sat down as the administration and looked at areas we need to work on if we are going to clinch the ticket to the PSL and we realised we need a strong technical department.

“We believe he is an astute coach and brings with him valuable experience.

“We will also be looking at beefing up our squad once it’s clear when football is resuming,” said Phiri.

Ncube, a holder of a Caf B coaching badge, was, however, coy on his appointment saying he was yet to finalise anything with Talen Vision.
