Learners should be careful when using social media. What you see on social media is not always real. Most celebrities or prominent people that you follow on Instagram or Facebook don’t survive that flashy and extravagant life. Pictures are usually edited or filtered to attract a large audience. Some borrow suits and clothes to have those pictures posted on Facebook or Instagram. Some borrow cars for photoshots. Not all that glitters is gold. As a learner, you end up setting unrealistic goals for yourself . Don’t put yourself under unnecessary pressure.
Don’t use social media for affirmation or validation. People embarrass themselves on Facebook to get likes .They post nude photos & take photos half naked. This is done in-order to seek relevance & attention on Instagram. They want to be seen as more popular .Don’t be depressed that somebody didn’t like your picture or acknowledge your post. Your value is not measured or determined by the comments that are on your post. Your self worth is not determined by the numbers of followers on Facebook or Instagram .
Invest in real friendship with people that you live with everyday. Work on building your character and personality. When you go on Facebook or Instagram, market a product , services, or opportunities.
Remain focused on your school work. Your value is what you carry within. Your value is your gift. Focus on your gift and stay away from using social media to measure yourself.
You are not a biological mistake, remember you were born for something . Work on your gift , polish & refine it. A great tomorrow is waiting for you.
