THE Highlanders Kasi Pride Battle is now heading into the quarterfinals where eight Bulawayo suburbs head into a contest to prove who has the most ardent Bosso supporters in the city.

After a week of intense combat on Twitter, Gwabalanda, Entumbane, Luveve, Cowdray Park, Magwegwe, Makokoba, Mzilikazi and Nkulumane are through to the quarterfinals scheduled to run on a single day on Saturday.

Ronald Moyo, the Highlanders media and communications officer said the second round had gone nicely and it was good seeing the Bosso supporters interacting with the products of the club’s sponsors. On average 150 people voted on each poll, which while it is nothing to write home about, is encouraging seeing that a few of the Bosso fans use the micro blogging and social service, which is seen as an elite service.

“Round Two went pretty well. It’s always good seeing fans interacting with the products of our partners. We were getting an average of 150 votes per poll,’’ Moyo said.

He is confident that the club’s collaborators can derive something from such projects as they move to the exciting part of the initiative. The “Kasi” with the most fervent Amahlolanyama supporters will be crowned next Wednesday.

“We hope going forward, our fans will understand the value our partners derive from such activities. We are now looking forward to the quarterfinals which we will run concurrently on Saturday. We will then have our semis and the final on Monday and Wednesday respectively,’’ he said.

Bosso have partnered with Arenel, which saw some of those who took part in the voting announced as winners of prizes from the diversified food processing company. They were required to post a selfie of themselves holding an Arenel product in order to stand a chance of winning a prize.

Last season, Arenel sponsored the Highlanders first team with their Hydro Boost mineral water for training and match days with indications the two organisations might be working on a bigger joint venture for the future.
