THE Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Bulawayo, Cde Judith Ncube, who was recently appointed into the Zanu-PF Politburo by President Mnangagwa has vowed to deliver on key and pertinent issues affecting the province while also strengthening the  party.

Cde Ncube was appointed as a Politburo member representing Bulawayo on 1 December when President Mnangagwa who is also the party’s First Secretary announced a mini-reshuffle to bolster the party and fill positions left by members who passed on.

Cde Ncube told Sunday News on the sidelines of a Zanu-PF Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting at the party’s provincial headquarters, Davies Hall in Bulawayo yesterday that being in the Politburo was a blessing to the province.

The Politburo is the party’s highest decision making body outside Congress.

“I would like to thank uBulawayo omuhle and its leadership, but above all I want to thank President Mnangagwa for appointing me into the Politburo. I am so humbled indeed, I’m thankful to the President, Central Committee and the Politburo and the entire nation and Zanu-PF,” she said.

“To be in the Politburo it means a lot, not only to me but to the entire party because people will be looking at you expecting to deliver and represent them fully. I have always said if I could represent you effectively it’s advisable to have all those around me to give all the support because this is not my position alone but for the rest of the party.”

Cde Ncube said on the political front, all decisions, and recommendations are presented to the Politburo where they analyse every aspect and recommend if it is good for the country and party.

“I will learn a lot and I am expecting to share with those experienced senior leaders, I am expecting to be groomed so that I really deliver, it’s a process,” she said.

Cde Ncube said some of the issues she was going to tackle while in her new position were issues around women and youth empowerment.

“The issue of empowering our young people, we need to look into that, others have come into the office and put across their concerns. We have young people that have gone through a lot, some are living with disabilities.

“We need to look at widows, some have lost houses and we need to look into the system on how best we can protect widows and orphans,” she said.

Cde Ncube emphasised the need to strengthen and support local manufacturing companies in Bulawayo in order to grow the local economy and also create employment.

Cde Tshinga Dube, also a member of the Politburo also sang praises of Cde Ncube over her appointment.

“Today is a great day for the province, the President saw it fit to uplift one of our own to be a Politburo member. We have had our other comrades like Cdes Joshua Malinga and Angeline Masuku who are both ill at the moment who have been in the Politburo. We have been promoted as Bulawayo, she will take all our concerns to the high office.

“I have known Sisi Judy and worked with her for a long time in developmental issues in the Matabeleland region.

She has always worked for the people and does it well. That is why she was even given the task to be Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution and now a Politburo member. We are happy for her appointment,” said Cde Dube who was particularly impressed that Cde Ncube has taken the concerns of war veterans seriously.
