WEARING clean underwear is something you are taught as a child. Wearing clean, fresh and washed underwear is something you ought to do daily. Just like how you brush your teeth every morning no matter how late you are.

There is no valid reason why you wouldn’t do this on a daily basis. Whenever you take a bath/shower you need to wear clean underwear/panties.

Maintain basic hygiene
Practising good hygiene should be an important part of your life as its good for your health. Taking a bath, brushing your teeth and wearing washed clothes everyday are all part of basic hygiene. Wearing clean panties should be a priority. This is to make sure you protect yourself from bacteria and microbes.

Prevent infections
Panties help to absorb sweat, but not changing it on a daily basis can increase the risk of yeast infection as yeast and bacteria thrive in a moist environment. The bacteria may spread to your urinary tract, resulting in a urinary tract infection. Ensure your panties are clean and dry to prevent infections.

Prevent rashes
Your skin may turn itchy if you have been sitting in the same underwear and clothes for a day or 2. What starts as just an itch can soon turn to a rash or sore. Although these rashes can be treated easily, it is always better to prevent them by wearing fresh and bacteria free underwear. If you notice a rash, clean the area and ensure that you start changing your underwear regularly. If it doesn’t heal, visit the doctor.

Be comfortable
Isn’t it a great feeling after you take a shower and put on clean clothes? The dirt, sweat and bacteria can make you extremely uncomfortable. This can have a negative impact on your sexual life as these rashes may make your partner uncomfortable too.

Self-confidence
You must have noticed a strange odour from down there. This a sign for you to change. This unpleasant smell and infection caused by dirty underwear can affect your self-confidence as you may hesitate to have social interaction. It is always better to stick to cotton and nylon panties. Cotton underwear lets your skin breathe and prevent infections. Wearing tight underwear can lead to an infection as the moisture is trapped.

Aim to change your underwear every day, even more than once if you want. There’s a lot of debate about whether or not going underwear-free to bed is better for you. I’d suggest for those who deal with regular yeast infections, to go to bed panty-free. Going to bed in this manner allows you to breathe overnight and keeps moisture from building.

Well-fitting and moisture absorbing underwear is the best when working out/ gym. Wearing something between you and the fabric may be more comfortable and an even healthier way to catch the sweat. Typically, this would be a high tech polyester that’s light and sleek.

Lastly, wash your underwear in hypo-allergic soap. All types of underwear must be handled more gently than the rest of your wardrobe. This is because they sit up against your more sensitive skin area for long periods of time. Anything soapy or chemical next to the vulva can lead to irritation, itching and allergic reactions.-Additional information from online sources.
