NORMAN Mapeza, the FC Platinum coach, applauded the unity at FC Platinum after recording his 10th victory of the season.
“I owe the success to unity on the players, executive, technical staff, in fact everyone. We have been united and hence the results.
“Everyone is working very hard and I am proud of the players. I am not speaking of the championship yet but I leave everything to God. It is only God who knows our destiny,” said Mapeza
FC Platinum’s goals all scored in the second half came from regular scorer Brian Muzondiwa during open play and Winston Mhango, who converted a penalty.
With the victory yesterday FC Platinum moved to third position on the log having accumulated 32 points from 18 matches, five points from leaders Chicken Inn who beat Chapungu yesterday.
Hwange had seemed to brew a shocker when they denied FC Platinum any scoring opportunities in the first half but a pep talk from Mapeza at the breather appeared to have inspired the home side.
Muzondiwa had the ball at the back of the nets just two minutes from the break, when he won possession on the left and dribbled past Andrew Chuma before powering a shot past Hwange goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya.
The platinum miners were then awarded a penalty by Harare-based referee Josiah Masimira after Allan Gahadzikwa was brought down by David Boriwondo in the box.
Mhango took the responsibility sending goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya the wrong way.
“Losing to FC Platinum is not an issue. They are a good team, they played, they got their chances and that is all I can say, thanks”, said Hwange mentor Nation Dube.
