GREETINGS beloved nation in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

Last week we spoke on deliverance. We see Jesus, on his first ministration after being filled by the Holy Ghost, entering the temple and he begins to fulfil and announce the messianic prophesy that was spoken by Isaiah in the book of Isaiah 61.

We see he is ministering freedom to the prisoners inside the house of God. How many believers are there who are still imprisoned but still going to church and carrying their Bibles, their destinies being arrested by evil spirits? You remember in the book of Exodus when Moses was demanding freedom and deliverance from Pharaoh, Pharaoh replied saying, “you can go but don’t go too far”.

We know in the scriptures that Pharaoh represents the devil, Egypt represents the world system and the taskmasters represent demons or spirits. Last week we spoke about 3 entry points or doors that attract evil spirits in a believer’s life.

As long as these doors remain closed in the believer’s life, the devil has no power to bind or to oppress a believer. Many believers have got this question, “Can a believer be bound or influenced by demons?” Yes, if these doors are not dealt with, the enemy can take advantage to oppress a believer.

That’s why there are people who are gifted in healing and in deliverance. By the way let us not forget that some of the sicknesses and diseases are sponsored by evil spirits.

That’s why we lay hands on the sick and cast out demons. That’s another topic for another time. We have seen men and women of God, elders and deacons manifesting these evil spirits in different ways.

Some in their behaviour, some in their talk and some in their lives. The question is “are they not born again?” Yes, they are but these spirits were given access unknowingly or knowingly.

That’s why Jesus said in Luke 4:18, “I have come to preach deliverance.” Is there anything embarrassing about this? No! Deliverance was not designed to embarrass anyone.

One of the reasons why there is deliverance is to remind the delivered person that he is a candidate of the house of God. So there is nothing embarrassing whether you are a bishop, an apostle, a prophet, a pastor. When you get delivered it’s a sign that you are a child of God.

That’s why many believers suffer with their pain because they tell themselves that they have been in church for many years, so they can’t be delivered and they feel embarrassed.

Remember last week we said this is your redemptive right, it’s your right to be delivered so that you may possess your possessions.

One of the signs that deliverance has taken place in the life of a believer is by results that manifest in that individual at great speed. As long as there is delay in a believer’s life, backwardness and pain in all areas of your life, I would advise you to seek deliverance. Let’s talk about how these demons can access a believer.

The following are the doors that give demons access;

1. First door — Covenants. These are not only in new and old testament, it is a system of authorisation between two or more people, ratified by the mystery of blood, with mutual advantages if kept and severe consequences if violated.

The concept of covenant pre dates old and new testament. In Genesis there is a covenant with earth that it will produce after its own kind. Meaning you cannot sow oranges and reap mangoes.

In Genesis 8 Noah made an altar and God made a covenant of seed time and harvest and many other covenants. There are personal covenants and territorial covenants.

People made personal covenants with God in the Bible, some of which had one time conditions and benefits, while others had everlasting benefits.

So there are all kinds of covenants between two or more people with mutual benefits if obeyed. These are disastrous if disobeyed. So the first system of authorisation on earth that authorises both God and demons is a covenant.

2. Second door — Disobedience. Disobedience is a force in the spirit just like obedience is a force that can make things happen as we see in Deuteronomy 28:1-20.

The birth of Jesus does not take away the force of disobedience, for it is still at work, just in the same way the force of obedience is still at work. In Proverbs 26:2 it says, “a curse without cause shall not alight.”

This is the description of many lives and many families. There is a spirit that works in men that makes them disobedient because Satan knows that until you are assisted by a spirit you cannot disobey.

Consistent disobedience is empowered by a spirit, meaning when someone walks in disobedience and perpetual rebellion there is a spirit assisting him because human beings are not that bad.

3. Third door — Ignorance In Ephesians 4:18, a man who is ignorant is a gateway for enemy to come and destroy his life to pieces as we see in John 10:10. This is where many people have problems.

They have worked well to break demonic causes and covenants in their lives, but they have no grace for obedience and grace for spiritual intelligence as we see in Psalms 82:5-7.

The Bible says Jesus himself knew what to do according to John 6:6. We need to close these gates so that we enjoy complete victory that was achieved at the cross.

As long as these doors are open, the enemy will have access to the believer’s life. Once again I would like to invite you to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour, and you shall be saved.
