BULAWAYO gospel artiste Tichaona Machiridza last Friday released his third album titled, Fambai NaJesu.

The album carries eight tracks which are mainly praise and worship songs. He revealed that his latest offering was inspired by the social and economic situation that is prevailing in the country.

“These days a day hardly passes without reading a story about rape, murder or abortion. After seeing that I had to come up with this album so as to try and inform society that such social-ills could be avoided if one surrenders his or her life to God.

“This album is meant to advise people not to indulge in short-lived peace derived from drugs or alcohol but one has to seek priceless peace from God. Drugs or alcohol pose a danger to one’s life,” he said.

After having listened to the album, the track Sarudzo which literally means choices advises people to make worthwhile choices. On this song Machiridza portrays himself as a pastor preaching to his congregants warning and advising people to choose Jesus.

Now wearing the cap of a Bishop, in the track Basa Dzvene, he urges church leaders like pastors to live an exemplary life.

“There are some church leaders like elders, deacons and pastors who are often caught on the wrong side. For example, you will see a pastor or an elder becoming involved in an illicit affair or being involved in questionable dealings. But they have to refrain from that and try to lead unquestionable lives that will portray them in a positive light,” he said.

The other tracks on the album are Funga Ufungisise, Tamirira, Mota, Daira and Baba Abraham.

He said plans are underway for a tour to promote the album. “At the moment I’m organising promotional tours in three towns namely Gweru, Kadoma and Hwange where we plan to perform during September,” he said.
