FORMER Premiership side, Hwange leapfrogged Tsholotsho to top the Zifa Southern Region Division One League after coming from behind beat Talen Vision 2-1 in a match played at the Colliery yesterday.

Tsholotsho were held to a nil all draw by Indlovu Iyanyathela in an Africa Day fixture played at Mzilikazi Barracks.

Hwange are now on top of the log standings with 17 points from eight matches while Tsholotsho are second on 16 points from the same number of games.

The Hwange Colliery Company bankrolled side had to summon their Premiership experience as they scored the winner in injury time dashing Talen Vision’s hopes of returning to Bulawayo with a point.

Nigerian, Ossy Miniru Monday shot the Bulawayo side into the lead in the 8th minute but his goal was cancelled out by Hwange veteran, Gilbert Zulu in the 66th minute before substitute Tendai Mate sealed the win for the coal miners with a strike deep in injury time.

Talen Vision finished the match with 10-men after former Bantu Rovers midfielder, Nyasha Garayi was sent off for a second bookable offence with a minute to regulation time.

Despite being yet to lose a match, Tsholotsho has drawn and won an equal number of four matches, something that should be of concern to the team technical bench headed by Joseph Sibindi.

Sibindi, however, said his side is doing well but is concerned about the lack of creativity and poor finishing upfront adding it is two areas that he would be putting his focus on to ensure they start notching wins.

Zim Leopards moved two places up the log from 14th to 12th after beating Dete-based debutants, NRZ Leopards 1-0 in an Africa Day action played at Luveve while Moto Moto got the better of title chasing Makomo FC who are coached by former Chicken Inn gaffer, Rahman Gumbo.

Toronto and ZPC Hwange played out a goalless draw at Luveve while Plumtree-based Mainline got the better of ZRP Bulawayo 1-0, a side which has found the going tough this season.
