SHE has proven that strutting down the ramp is not the only thing she is good at but has many other talents too.
Langelihle Ndlovu popularly known in the music circles as Langa, is aiming at re-awakening the entertainment industry of Bulawayo. The songbird will be working with Star FM in a production that will provide a platform to make people aware of what the entertainment industry of Bulawayo is working on and making the artistes visible in the country. She will be part of the breakfast club presenters but corresponding from Bulawayo.

“I will be working as the Star FM correspondent from Bulawayo. What my programme will mainly be doing is providing entertainment news as far as Bulawayo is concerned. I am very excited about this new programme we are having and I hope that it will benefit many artistes in the City of Kings and Queens,” she said.

Langa said she was very happy to be part of the production as the platform would prove to people that Bulawayo was not dead but had lot of activities in its entertainment bag. She said this was a platform for artistes in Bulawayo as it would help market their music and different projects.

“Bulawayo has not been given that much recognition in the arts sector yet we have a lot to offer. Star FM is taking this opportunity to work with artistes in Bulawayo and give artistes in Harare that much-needed competition because as far as the entertainment industry is concerned, Harare artistes seem to be benefiting a lot,” said Langa.

“I am trying to get as much content on what is happening in the music fraternity. My job is to make people aware of the events that are happening in Bulawayo. If people are aware — who knows maybe we could attract sponsorships or gigs for artistes in other cities,” said Langa.

She said beside talking to artistes, events managers or promoters, she would be talking to people in the streets of Bulawayo to find out their opinions on different things that affect them in life.

“This programme will give me the opportunity to mingle with people in Bulawayo and find out their thoughts on different topics. This will be a first time because there is no station that has had such a platform where other cities have their own correspondents just to find out what is happening every now and then,” she said.

Besides the new radio job that she will be doing, the songbird is currently in the studio working on her new album. She said the coming album would have killer jams that would keep people on the dance floor.

“I am working on an explosive album which will be released in due course. I am now under new management and we are working tirelessly so that we come up with music that will blow people’s minds. I am very much confident with the new team that I am working with in this project,” said Langa.

Bulawayo artistes have over the years been crying foul that their music and other art productions were not given enough space on national radio and television stations, something they said was not giving them a fair competition with their Harare counterparts. The Star FM programme therefore comes as a grand platform for the artistes who can now market their productions to a greater population.
