HIGHLANDERS will be boosted by the return of enterprising midfielder, Nigel Makumbe when they take on Harare City at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday in Match Day 15 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

The player maker has been missing for the past seven matches after sustaining an ankle injury that was aggravated as he was ready to make a comeback resulting in the long layoff.

Makumbe’s absence saw Bosso struggle to notch results and when he was away they won two, lost the same number of games and drew the rest. The on-loan player proved a vital cog in the early stages of Bosso’s campaign directly coming up with assist in several goals the team scored and being part of moves that resulted in goals.

Speaking during the club’s weekly press conference, Highlanders’ technical coach, Madinda Ndlovu said Makumbe has been doing well at training with no signs of pain in the ankle and he will be making a return to the squad for the match against Harare City.

“Nigel has been doing very well at training showing no signs of pain and we expect him back in the squad. We have received a boost in that department (midfield) as his comeback is going to give a different dimension to our play.

“He is our playmaker, intelligent player who can carry the team on his shoulder on the day and he will be our trump card for the day,” he said.

Ndlovu said he expects a very tight game considering Harare City are also ball players who are tactically sound and have very intelligent moves especially their attacking.

He said they would have to get their act together to diffuse their raids the potential raids that are most likely to be created by their opponents.

Ndlovu said they would have to look for a makeshift left back as the two players who play in that position, captain; Honest Moyo and Mbongeni Ndlovu have been sidelined by injury.

Speedy winger, Gabriel Nyoni, who sustained injuries to his ribs, striker, Thabo Lunga and centre back Tendai Ndlovu will also, be unavailable due to injury.
